Liebe Familie Ehret.

 

Wir waren gestern Abend am 31.12.2011 bei euch im Bierhäusle am Feldberg.
Den Tisch hatten wir schon Mitte Oktober reserviert.

 

Naja, obwohl wir von dem äußeren her uns auf Schnitzel mit Pommes eingestellt hatten. :-)
Erwartet uns ein super super schönes und leckeres Abendessen.

 

Es war wirklich ein wunder schöner Abend.
Und wir waren sehr überrascht das es so gemütlich war.

 

Die Gerichte waren sehr schön angerichtet sodass das Auge auch etwas davon hatte.
Es war alles super lecker. Und Preis/Leistung völlig in Ordnung.

 

Macht weiter so.
 

Wir kommen gerne mal wieder.

We are still on the road. we have traveled several days in alsace and now two days in the vosges mountains. tommorow we leave to our final destination in lorain and then fly back from frankfurt into steaming tel aviv.

 

We would like to thank you very much again for all your help. your kind and friendly hospitality made our visit to germany exceptionally joyful and interesting and was the best start for our trip. We really do appreciate your attitude and hospitality.  

Hope to meet again some time either in israel, germany or any other place in our small planet.

nach fast einem Jahr war es wieder ein herzliches Wiedersehen. So, also wir uns seit ewig kennen würden.
 

Wir haben die Zeit bei euch sehr genossen. Das traditionielle Ambiente mit dem Einfluß von Thomas´s moderner Küche kombiniert mit Alex´s lockerem, professionellem Service. Herrliche Weine, wunderbare Essen und wunderbarer Umgebung. Bei den Ehret´s im Bierhäusle kann man sich nur wohlfühlen. Egal ob jung oder alt, es war ein Genuß in jeder Hinsicht.

I've eaten at the Lemon-tree several times, and every time has been excellent. Efficient staff that actually seem to be genuinely happy to see you; well cooked and appetising food; airy, rustic, welcoming premises, and standards of of cleanliness and presentation to make anyone happy.
I've typically had fry-ups, sandwiches and other cafe fare, and beyond the well cooked food, what lifts it is the glorious, bonkers, OTT presentation of the plates. I'm not normally in to this kind frivolity, but this transcends the usual chuck-it-on-a-plate ethos and shuffles towards art of some kind.
Excellent coffee to boot.

Stopped in on the way from Roxburgh when driving back to Picton. The food was out of this amazing. Whilst it was only brunch (french toast) I have never seen such phenomenal presentation and delicious tastes in a small town. The couple running the place were so lovely, service was prompt, coffee was great (for a small town - I was amazed) and very cheap. They could have picked up, dropped themselves in the middle of Mission Bay and charge twice what they were. Would recommend to anyone going anywhere Lawrence. Actually, go out of your way to eat there.

We came for a weekend to lawrence at easter 2008 looking for gold, only to find the true tresure was The Lemon Tree. My wife and I are very seasoned diners and it is one of the best lunches I have had in my life. 5 stars. Would highly recommend anyone to go off the main road specially to go there. Yum! Love the singer in the kitchen too !

Lemon Tree Cafe and Restaurant, Lawrence

 

To continue my series of cafe reviews,the Lemon Tree Cafe and Restaurant is well worth several stops - on the way through Lawrence and on the way home! In my opinion good coffee should be assumed - it is the food which sets cafes apart. Much as I like ginger crunch, lemon slice, Anzac biscuits and carrot cake, I want something different when I am out. The German owners of the Lemon Tree cafe, Alexandra and Thomas Ehret, don't produce the usual cafe goodies. Instead, their German offerings are interesting and delicious. The presentation of lunch is rather avant garde. As well as all this, the welcome alone makes you want to return.
